Mark joined WSOC’s Daybreak team in August 2016.

Before he started working for Channel 9, Mark was a morning reporter and a fill-in anchor for WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky.

While he was in the Bluegrass State, Mark extensively covered the legal battle surrounding Kim Davis’ refusal to issue marriage licenses.

Mark also worked as an investigative journalist for WKYT. One of his investigations uncovered inaccurate inmate escape alerts at a prison in Lexington. His reporting led the Department of Corrections to change the information they release to the public and the media about escapes.

After a five-month investigation into Lexington’s 911 center, Mark broke a story about 911 calls going unanswered for much longer than they had in previous years. The delays were costing taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.

When Mark isn’t on the job, he’s with his wife Lindsey. They married in 2013 after they met while they were studying at different universities in South Carolina. Lindsey is a 4K teacher in Rock Hill.

Mark grew up in the shadow of the Colorado Rockies and on the windswept plains of Kansas.
