Joe Bruno joined WSOC-TV as a morning reporter in September 2015. You can catch Joe Monday through Friday on Eyewitness News Daybreak. 

Joe joins Channel 9 after reporting at the Fox O&O affiliate in Charlotte.

At Fox, Joe reported across North and South Carolina covering the day’s top stories. While at Fox, Joe served as an embedded journalist for the 2014 election, covering Senator Thom Tillis’ campaign. Joe covered two major shark attacks on Oak Island, reporting live on Greta Van Susteren’s “On the Record.” He also spent several days in Charleston reporting on the shooting massacre and the powerful people who led prayer and healing efforts. 

Joe is an Elon University graduate where he was News Director of Elon Local News for more than two years. At Elon, his reporting and producing received awards from RTDNA, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Television Academy’s Emmy Foundation. Joe was also named Student Journalist of the Year by the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas. 

Joe is originally from Philadelphia but is happy to be working in North Carolina. Outside of work, Joe enjoys hanging out with friends and going to music and sporting events. He is also a baseball and softball umpire and brother of Delta Upsilon.
